Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had just broke the record in the Champions League Theo Walcott. Oxlade-Chamberlain now have another target: seize positions in the core team of hands Walcott Arsenal.
Thanks to his goal against Olympiakos on Thursday (09/29/2011) pm dawn, Oxlade-Chamberlain is now shifting Walcott as England's youngest player to score in the Champions League.
Pleased with the incision, the player who only turns 18 years old on August 15 and was admitted to owe a big enough person whose record he had just solved.
"Theo has a lot of help. In the locker room I sat down beside him and he continued to help me, especially since I was a young player and he knows how it feels because both come from Southampton," said Oxlade-Chamberlain in the Daily Mail.
"And I've been looking at Theo because right now I play on the right wing position, and I just want a lot of performance gain knowledge and learn from what he did," he continued.
Even so, Oxlade-Chamberlain was well aware that in the end he had to compete directly with his "mentor" to be performed regularly for Arsenal.
"I knew I had to move Theo to get into the team. Football like that right? Off the pitch are friends, but in the field all competing to be the place. This makes the squad to be more healthy."
"It will not easy for me to get Theo's position or any individual within the team, but I'm ready for the challenge and I will continue to work hard every day," said Oxlade-Chamberlain.
