Spain begin their conquest of continental twisted fourth consecutive against Ukraine and Slovenia after the draw of the UEFA European Futsal Championship 2012 in the conference center of Zagreb Hypo Expo XXI.
Croatia will host the 12-team tournament from 31 January to 11 February. Participants were divided into four groups of three teams for the tournament's new ambassador Robert Jarni and his former team-mate Croatian Davor Suker.
While Spain, champions in 2001, 2005, 2007 and 2010, is in Group B with two-time champion Ukraine and Slovenia, the Croatian national team is facing Romania and then to the Czech Republic (third in 2010) in Group A .
Perhaps the toughest group is Group D, where the runner-up in 2010, Portugal, a semifinalist and quarterfinalist as Azerbaijan and Serbia. Newcomer Turkey will play against former champions such as Italy and Russia in Group C.
The complete schedule of matches will be announced shortly, and the two teams from each pool advance to the quarterfinals, which like the group stage was held at the Zagreb Arena and the Arena Spaladium Split. The capital will host the semifinals, the match for third place and final. Before that the 12 finalists will participate in qualifying for the FIFA World Cup which begins in October and December.
