Croatia amounted to leadership



Croatia rose to first place in Group F qualifying for the UEFA EURO 2012 thanks to their 3-1 win against an Israel that was left with ten men and the draw of Greece to Latvia in Riga.

Despite its dominance in the first half, Croatia was placed back on the scoreboard with a goal from Tomer Hemed before the break. The hosts responded immediately to start the second half. Luka Modric has signed a tie in the 47th minute before substitute Eduardo scored twice after the expulsion of Tal Ben Haim.

Now Croatia is the new leader of the group and has a point advantage over the combined Hellenic before the crucial meeting between the two to be held next month. However, it was Israel that placed land through before the break.
