Failed to get Owen Hargreaves who seized City, Spurs did a quick step to divert their attention to another English midfielder, Scott Parker. In fact, coach Harry Redknapp gave a signal that Parker will come to White Hart Lane in 24 hours.
Scott Parker was undergoing training with the England squad to undergo a Euro 2012 qualifying matches against Bulgaria and Wales. Parker's own ambitions to retain his place in the core team St. George Cross to look for clubs that competed in the Premier League, after his club, West Ham relegated last season to a Division Championship.
In addition to the Spurs, Queen's Park Rangers also had wanted a Parker, but the Spurs' technical strength on paper is what makes Parker leaning more to the North London club.
Harry Redknapp has expressed his desire to bring in Parker for a long time and he did not hesitate to also give praise to the former Chelsea player.
"He's a good player. In my opinion, that's who we need now. Good player with very good attitude," said Redknapp.
"He's Player of the Year (UK Journalist choice) and will be an additional value to the team, no doubt about it."
"Now it was just a little longer to be completed (the process of Parker's move to Spurs). I hope the day is over (Tuesday, 08.30 local time)."
