Head coach of Team USA (USA) Juergen Klinsmann has called the German-born player who has never been capped Fabian Johnson into his team to face two friendly matches in September against Costa Rica and Belgium.
Johnson, 23-year-old midfielder who plays for Hoffenheim, has dual German and U.S. citizenship and represented Germany at youth level and U-21.
Former Germany coach Klinsmann has also been called the Frankfurt-born defender Timothy Chandler, who twice appeared in pomfret former U.S. coach Bob Bradley.
Chandler, who played for Nuremberg, will compete with Steve Cherundolo Hannover 96 players to earn a place at the right rear.
The U.S. team will host Costa Rica at Carson, California on September 2 and then face Belgium in Brussels four days later.
Klinsmann, who began to become coach of the U.S. earlier this month with a 1-1 draw against Mexico, also provide opportunities to the Colorado Rapids midfielder Jeff Larentowicz, who has appeared once for the "Stars and Stripes".
Three players based in Mexico Jose Torres, Michael Orozco Fiscal and Edgar Castillo also put in a team that also housed an established player Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan.
