Return to China -- Part 13, The Ceramics Factory

We started off the next morning with a shopping opportunity -- a trip to an "Arts Ceramics Factory" that specializes in producing replicas of the famed terracotta warriors.

Just inside the entrance we were met by this man who gave us a brief introduction to the factory [actually a sales pitch], then led us past several artisans at work so we could see the process by which the ceramics and laquered goods were made.

Of course these are just for show, we didn't get a chance to see the main production facilities. Instead we were hurried on to a sales area where the group spent what seemed to be a lot of time. This was not my first visit to the factory so, while the others shopped, I walked around with my camera.

Then it was onto the bus and off to see the real terracotta warriors.
