My top 5 recommended football blogs

Since starting my blog I've had the pleasure of getting to know a lot of other football bloggers through Twitter. There are a lot of football blogs out there from club or league specific to about football in general but there are particular blogs that caught my eye and I always enjoy reading.

So here are my top 5 recommended football blogs...

The Footy Blog
Website: http://www.thefootyblog.net
Twitter: @thefootyblognet
Scott who owns TheFootyBlog.net was one of the first football bloggers that I got talking to when I first started my blog and is still one of my favourites. One of the main things I like is that he's so good at keeping it updated often, which is something that blogs often lack. His blog often has a Scottish football bias (being a Scot!) but he's also very good at covering other key topics too and his posts are also usually really in-depth and I will actually find myself reading through each update properly rather than skimming it. One area that I like is that he regularly has guests posts on there too...including myself...which I think adds a nice touch. Scott's also a really nice lad, plenty of banter and certainly someone I'm glad I've met.

Shirt Off 4 Wolves

Ok, so he takes his shirt off and has lots of pictures of said shirtlessness (is that a word?!) but Reece's blog is also excellent and that's not to mention the fantastic work he does through it too. As you'd guess from the name, he literally takes his shirt off at Wolves games and blogs about it, he also tries to get a picture with an away fan on there too. But he's also used his blog to help raise money for the lovely and brave Jack Marshall - a fantastic cause. Reece recently worked with Wolves and had the new shirt body painted on, which was a great touch. One of the things I like about Reece's blog is that he puts a lot of effort into it and that's what sets it apart from others...ok also that he's shirtless too makes it rather good...! I've actually featured Reece on my blog before if you fancy a read. I can genuinely say that Reece is absolutely lovely too, he's one of my favourite Tweeters and I'm looking forward to meeting him soon on a Twitter get together at a Wolves game.

Iron In Our Blood

Twitter: @carlgac
Carl has only been doing his football blog for a couple of months but I've been really impressed by it so far and enjoy reading when he updates. As you'd expect from the name, it's a Scunthorpe blog but don't be put off by it being club specific, as he also covers other lower league subjects and it's a great read from someone who really knows the game and the club and I love the passion that Carl writes with. I also like the design of Iron In Our Blood, I think the header is so unique. I'm looking forward to seeing what more he brings us as we'll be supporting clubs in the same league next season.

Natter Football

Website: http://natterfootball.wordpress.com
Twitter: @NATTERFOOTBALL
It's hard not to instantly like this football blog, the design is just so good from the background to the header and the layout, it's a really well designed blog that has a pretty funky look. The great thing about Natter Football is that it's not specific to any club or league either and takes a general look at everything football, I know there are a lot of blogs out there that do that, but I enjoy reading this one because of the variety it offers and because it's also updated a lot more than other blogs are.

The Tilehurst End

Website: http://thetilehurstend.co.uk

Twitter: @TheTileHurstEnd
Focusing on the life of a Reading Fan, The Tilehurst End is another very well designed blog that's simple and straight to the point and I find it very easy to read and get around. Once again, even though it's club specific, don't let it put you off because it's a fantastic read and I love to see what other clubs are up to and to hear a real fan's perspective on what's going on. I also admire them for updating so often, so often you see a blog that doesn't seem to have much going on, but I can assure you The Tilehurst End isn't one of them.

Of course, I'm not saying your football blog isn't recommended! These are just 5 that I've picked out to feature because I enjoy reading them and think the deserve a mention for the effort they put in.

Do you recommend a football blog? If so, let me know!
